AREAS OF RESEARCH
Mr. Seilkop has been a statistical consultant in governmental, industrial, and academic settings for more than 25 years. His career has encompassed both collaborative and original research in diverse scientific disciplines, including toxicology, epidemiology, and atmospheric science. He has served as Principal Investigator on statistical support contracts with the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, where he applied and developed statistical methods for carcinogenicity and toxicity testing in animals, evaluation of spatial and temporal patterns of air pollution, and human health risk assessment. At present, he is engaged in collaborative research with toxicologists at LRRI studying the effects of various types of air contaminants on animals, and for other clients he is developing approaches to integrate the results of animal-based toxicological research and human epidemiological studies in quantitative assessments of human health risk.
