AREAS OF RESEARCH
Current research interests include the development of animal models to explore the role of the lung epithelium in innate immunity and host defense to viral and bacterial infection. Strategies include the use of lung-specific transgenic and gene targeting technology to produce "gain of function" and "loss of function" models to delineate important mechanisms that modulate lung responses to infection.
